Overview

Elastomer bellows mechanical seals are designed for applications that call for a flexible, reliable and wear-resistant sealing solution. The bellows follows the movement of the shaft and any misalignment, and it reduces shaft wear. The seals suit a wide range of liquids and are particularly well suited to applications where the medium contains solids.

The range covers mechanical shaft seals for light, medium and heavy duty applications. Different sizes and designs are available to match a variety of pumps and seal chamber dimensions.

DesignThe elastomer bellows follows shaft movement and small misalignment, and reduces shaft wear

Note: −30…+120 °C and 14 bar are product-specific values, not general maximum ratings for elastomer bellows mechanical seals as a whole. Operating limits vary between different elastomers and seal designs.

Typical applications

Elastomer bellows mechanical seals are typically used to seal the shafts of pumps and rotating equipment, especially where the medium must be kept from leaking out of the equipment. Typical applications include:

Thanks to the bellows design, the seal is particularly suited to applications where the shaft moves, vibrates or shows slight misalignment. The application and the medium being handled still determine the right seal material and design.
