Material Properties

Rulon® materials are engineered PTFE compounds that combine the inherent low friction and chemical resistance of PTFE with proprietary fillers that dramatically improve wear resistance and load-bearing capacity.

Unlike standard filled PTFE, Rulon® grades are specifically formulated for bearing applications, providing consistent performance in demanding environments where lubrication is impractical or impossible.

  • Self-lubricating - no external lubrication required
  • Exceptional wear resistance in dry conditions
  • Low coefficient of friction (0.05 - 0.15)
  • Chemical resistance to virtually all media
  • Wide temperature range: -268°C to +288°C
Popular Rulon® Grades
Rulon® LRGeneral purpose, FDA compliant
Rulon® JBest wear resistance, soft shafts
Rulon® ARHigh loads, metal mating
Rulon® 641High PV, chemical resistance
Rulon® 142Cryogenic applications
