Material Properties

Graphite is a crystalline form of carbon with a unique layered structure that gives it remarkable self-lubricating properties. The weak bonds between its carbon layers allow them to slide easily, making graphite an excellent solid lubricant and bearing material even without additional lubrication.

With outstanding thermal stability and chemical inertness, graphite maintains its mechanical properties at temperatures where most other materials would fail. It is also an excellent conductor of both heat and electricity, opening up a wide range of applications in electronics and energy storage.

  • Extreme temperature resistance (up to 3000°C in inert atmosphere)
  • Self-lubricating with very low coefficient of friction
  • Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity
  • Outstanding chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, and solvents
  • Dimensionally stable at high temperatures
