Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a semi-crystalline fluoropolymer combining good mechanical strength with excellent chemical and UV resistance. Compared to PTFE it is stiffer, stronger and easier to weld, at the cost of a lower maximum temperature. PVDF resists most acids, halogens and chlorinated solvents and is widely used in high-purity applications such as semiconductor wet benches and pharmaceutical piping. It is physiologically inert, FDA compliant and naturally white, and can be machined or welded into pipe fittings, tanks and chemical process parts.
Chemical process pipes and fittings, high-purity semiconductor parts, pharmaceutical equipment, valve and pump components.
