Polyethylene terephthalate (PET, also known as PET-P) is a semi- crystalline engineering plastic that offers very high dimensional stability, excellent wear resistance and good chemical resistance. It has higher hardness and stiffness than POM and retains its mechanical properties well at elevated temperatures. PET machines to tight tolerances with an excellent surface finish and is an ideal choice for precision parts in packaging, electronics and mechanical engineering. The natural grade is FDA approved and widely used in food-contact applications such as filler nozzles and guide rails.
