Polyamide 6.6 (PA66) is a semi-crystalline engineering plastic with higher strength, stiffness and heat resistance than PA6. It maintains good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures and exhibits lower moisture absorption, giving more stable dimensions. PA66 offers excellent fatigue and wear resistance, making it well suited to small, highly loaded parts such as precision gears and bearing cages. It is commonly used where operating temperatures exceed the PA6 range but where the price of higher-performance polymers is not justified.
