Polyamide 6 (PA6) is a versatile semi-crystalline engineering plastic produced by extrusion. It combines high mechanical strength with good toughness, low friction and excellent wear resistance, making it one of the most widely used technical plastics in industrial machinery. PA6 absorbs moisture, which slightly reduces stiffness but improves impact resistance. It machines well on standard metalworking equipment and is readily available in rods, plates and tubes, giving designers a cost-effective alternative to non-ferrous metals in sliding and load-bearing applications.
