Material Properties

PEI (commonly known as Ultem®) is an amorphous thermoplastic with an exceptional balance of thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties. Its amber transparency and inherent flame resistance make it unique among high-performance plastics.

PEI maintains its properties across a wide temperature range and offers excellent hydrolytic stability, making it suitable for repeated steam sterilization in medical applications.

  • Excellent thermal stability up to 200°C continuous
  • Inherent flame resistance (UL94 V-0) with low smoke
  • Outstanding dimensional stability
  • Resistant to repeated steam sterilization
  • FDA and USP Class VI compliant grades
