Polyethylene / Ultra-High Molecular Weight PE
PE and PE-UHMW offer exceptional impact resistance, self-lubricating properties, and excellent chemical resistance. PE-UHMW is especially known for its superior abrasion resistance and low coefficient of friction.
Polyethylene (PE) is available in several grades, with PE-UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight) being the premium choice for demanding wear applications. Its extremely long molecular chains provide outstanding abrasion resistance and impact strength.
PE-UHMW is self-lubricating, has the lowest coefficient of friction of any thermoplastic (after PTFE), and maintains its properties even at cryogenic temperatures down to -200°C.
